I am organising a suprise weekend in Macau for my husbands 30th birthday.
I would like to orgnaise either superclass/VIP cabin for ferry there, does anyone know what is included in both tickets? ie alcohol, food etc
I would really appreciate any advice & suggestions of things to do while we are there, esp eating and drinking! Nothing too expensive as I would like to invite friends along :o)
I would definately like to organise a trip to the dog racing but think this is only on Friday night? Does anyone know where it is and what time it finishes?
I've also heard Fernandos is very for lunch. Is it the same on Sat and Sunday?
Many thanks for your help!!

VIP gets you a small meal (suggest you skip that and save room for Fernandos heheh) and all you can drink alcoholic bevs. More importantly you get off the boat first so through immigration first.
Fernando's doesnt take RSVPs on the weekend and will almost certainly wait wait for an hour or more for dinner (but not so bad - you can have wine and cheese in the courtyard while waiting).
Lunch is usually not as busy but depending on the day you may have to wait for a table on the weekend (not nearly as long as for dinner).
Suggest you check the Venetian site to see if there are any major acts in town.

Thanks very much Ed, that's fab!
For the ferry VIP status do you have to hire the VIP cabin or do you get the food and unlimited drinks in what they call 'super class'?
Does Fernando's do special sunday lunch or is the menu the same all the time, meaning it doesn't matter when we go?!
Thanks again Ed! Any suggestions for daytime activities like boat trips etc?

No need to book the VIP cabin to get the perks
Fernandos menu has been the same for 15 years (as long as I've been going there) lunch and dinner.

I wouldnt waste money on a vip seat they are not that great! i would go on the new Cotai strip boats to Macau ( leave from Shun Tak between 9 and 5) that have so far been empty as no-one really knows about them yet!! Fernandos yes!!! go for the chicken, the ribs, the prawns iun clam sauce, and salads - they give you free hot bread whivch is the best!!!
During the day go to st Pauls and have an egg tart from the small shop at the bottom of the stairs - go to the macau musem and the macau tower. Head to fernandos for leisurely lunch and copious amounts of Sangria, then hit the venetian

The restaurants in the Venetian are mostly crap, nothing ground-breaking there at all. I mean for the price they charge, you'll feel short-changed and the service isn't that great either. Although, the place itself might be worth a look-around, but weekends will be really busy. My best kept secret (and I can't believe I'm sharing this to you!) is the Champagne brunch at Aurora in the Crown Hotel. Great food, great service and it's real quality Champers that they serve, not second-rate sparkling wine and whatever drink you desire (wines, c*cktails, etc). It's MOP550++ pp. Now, pls don't tell this to anyone :D

Fernandos is fun but get there early for lunch as there can be a long queue waiting for the doors to open, and then all the tables fill quickly, so if you miss the first seating it can be quite a wait.
