My Nokia 6070 suddenly started showing the headset symbol/handsfree sign on the screen so now I can't hear anyone with it and no one can hear me when I talk. Does anyone have the same problem? I took it to the dealer and the guy told me they have had a few customers drop by with the same problem and that I need to go to the Nokie service center to have the software reloaded which will take a few hours. I went and was asked to pay $120-$450 depending on whether I had the original receipt. I told them what the guy at the dealership said and they did not want to admit anything. I felt it was unreasonable for them have me pay a fee just to have it looked at if there is a possibility that the problem has to do with their phone. And with that money I might as well get a new phone!
I just want to know if you or anyone you know have the same problem so that I can write a proper letter to Nokia here and file a complaint. If there are many people out there with this problem I think I proper recall should be done.

Hmmm - sounds as though you brought a parallel import - you waive the right to warrenty if you got a 'really good deal'
Nokia in Hong Kong (I am only assuming hong kong as I do not know where you are from) has to be one of the most efficient service centres I have every had the pleasure of entering.
To be honest though - I have had to service every Nokia phone I have ever brought within a year of owning - and their 'acceptence' to every problem kind of smacks of quality control problem. If you are entitled to a warranty - then there should be no charge. Open up the back of your phone and look at the sticker - it should show you the warranty expiry date of the phone, if it does not or looks scratched off, it may be an illegal phone.
Or you have had your phone so long the warrenty has expired. To be truthful, I have only a 1-2 year expectation of electronic goods.
There is a firmware update machine in the service centre - did you try that?

I got my phone from 1O1O in central. And yes, I have had the phone for almost 2 years now. It just sucks knowing the problem with their phone is simply because they don't have much of any quality control =(
