I have just signed a new tenacy agreement with my landlady for two years to start on the 1st of March however I am now having second thoughts is there anyway I can cnacel it before it starts.

there is often a two week "cooling off" period applicable to contracts, even if it's not written into them.... talk to your property agent also....

thanks for your help there is no property agency involved the situationis that I have already been living in the flat for 6 years but my original landlady died and it has now been left to the daughter, the old agreement had expired but I was still living here paying the rent etch whilst it was going through probate. The daughter wanted to raise the rent so I asked for a new agreement which was signed on Sunday to start form the first of March,it is a very informal contract and the reason I am now having second thoughts is that she is trying to opt out off some workthat she made a promise that she would do although this promise was verbal and of course not written into the agreement anynore help would be appreciated.

I suggest you try discussing again with your landlady. If that fails there is a list of Solicitors who will give free advice on certain days, available from the Legal Aid Office Central.
