We are planning a trip to Bali and are looking at staying at the RC. We have two children ages 6 and 10. Has anyone stayed here with kids. Is it kid friendly?

Thanks

Xpatwife - I heard amazing things about Intercontinental (which is just next door to RC as well) - just booked it myself for easter week. have you ever used Tripadvisor website - there are testimonies from people who have stayed on all hotels - so have a look - there are plenty on the RC (as well as intercontinental)

The Intercon is great. i think you can't go wrong with either one as they're both located in one of the best and exclusive beaches in Bali. I used tripadvisor to get a feel of the place/s I'm about to visit and it's helpful for insights et al. If you fancy a private villa with your own pool, Seminyak has heaps of it. But I think having kids with you, a resort-type would be better as it can cater to the young ones with activities and all. But private villas are definitely advisable for couples or people who want privacy.

I stayed in Ritz Carlton during CNY. It's absolutely children friendly and the whole resort is massive. There's lots of activites for kids. Another good choice will be Conrad. Lovely pool there.

Another option is renting a villa with staff. For example look at http://www.elitehavens.com . Sticker prices seem high but before you gasp compare with 2 rooms at a luxury resort. Everything is included except food and drink. Furthermore since a chef is on staff (and thus already paid for) you only have to pay the actual price of the ingredients, not the "restaurant price".

Then again, resorts tend to have lots of activities and you won't get those at a villa. Hotels are also more social environments. So it depends on what you like to do.
