hi,


I'm looking for a place that sells acid-free pens (archival pens) for writing on the back of photographs. Anyone know a place? I tried Prints in the Prince Building but they only have acid-free pastel paint markers. I want standard black.

there are a few art supply stores in the block bounded by Fa Yuen Street and Bute Street in Monkok/Prince Edward area..could try there...

PaperArt in Central carries it. If you want acid free paper, i'm selling it at low price. I'm into scrapbooking so i have all acid free stuff.

what works better than an archival pen is a pencil (9B) Derwent.

What is "Derwent"? I like pencil better so I tried a variety of pencils on one of my photographs and the 3b was ok - but still a little faint. it seemed too shiny on the back of the paper. where can i get a 9b Derment? Thanks!

I haven't checked recently but I bought it at Artland in Wanchai.

You can also buy it at Brushstrokes in Central on Pottinger Street.

Call 1081 for the telephone number of Brushstrokes.


i didn't use 3B because I had to press too hard on the photograph and I didn't want it to ruin the photo.

I took a conservation and preservation course and the teacher told me that pencil is the very best for archival purpose.

It definitely will not damage photos/paper.
