I know it's been a hard time for smokers in H.K., but working in a office where some smokers would go outside which is fine with me as long as they can finsih their work in time, but I do really mind some smokers keep smoking inside the toilet, I have called the management office and all they could say was they do check the toilet every hour and few times I have called they only came up 45 mins later and tells me there's no one's there ! or can't see anyone smoking inside ! they even say better if you could help and tell them who the person is smoking !

I am sick of those smokers keep smoking inside the toilet can anyone give me any suggestions would be nice.

Contact the Tobacco Control Office (2961 8823) which will send around some officers. Perhaps if you do this often enough, the management will be sufficiently ticked off to do something itself. Fitting a sprinkler system which is started by smoke rather than temperature would be an 'interesting' solution... ;-)

"If they're smoking when you're not there then it's presumably no concern of yours as it causes no harm."

Apart from the smell, the residue, and any smoke still in the air.

I kinda agree with MisterD (hey, that rhymed!) Anyways, unless your work involves "living" in the loo then who cares. Unless the smoke wafts through to the office, then I wouldn't get so worked up about it.

well the toilet is public area right? and the law covers no smoking in indoor workplace and public places. so therefore the toilet should be covered by the law

the law defines indoor as having a ceiling or roof, or a cover that functions (whether temporarily or permanently) as a ceiling or roof; and at least 50% of the total area of all sides enclosed

maybe you can seek help from the HK Council on Smoking and Health (they have a website) on this matter
