i'll be in hong kong in two weeks, and i'm looking for cheap but of good quality calf- or knee-high boots. will i be able to buy boots for less than 500HKD or is this a ridiculously low budget? i read somewhere that there are street markets w/c sell boots for less than 100HKD, but i have reservations as to the quality. a custom-made pair is not an option since i'll only stay in HK for 5 days. i heard that HK local shoe shops such as mirabell, joy and peace, le saunda, killah and innui have reasonably priced items. can i find boots in these shops w/c fit my budget? many thanks!

sure you can buy boots on that price, especially this time that all winter stuffs are on sale from 30-70% off.
You can also try to go to Lane Crawford warehouse in Ap Lei Chau, they sell a lot of branded boots from italy and Spain for a very low price, I am sure you can find one for 500HK$

Even in the sales I doubt you will find boots for HK$500 - more realistically HK$1000!

I was able to buy a very nice Pedro Garcia Boots from Lane Crawford(warehouse)last year for 600HK$, I am sure she can buy those Le saunda brand or other brands which is cheaper, and if you mention about buying on the ladies market or street markets, she can even buy it for 100HK$
And if you are looking for a good quality shoes also, Lane Crawford is a good place for you to buy, you can even buy from 100HK$, but the problem in lane crawford you have to find your size and sometimes its frustrating when you have the normal 6-7 sizes because normally asian people have this size. They always have nice shoes left for the size of 8+. Anyway if you have a hard time looking for this place when you are here, let me know, PM me and I can help you find it. its in Ap Lei Chau.

hi abby! i searched for lane crawford warehouse on the net, and i found out it's in new territories, right? i think it's really out of the way, and we don't have the luxury of time to even attempt going to that part of HK, hehe.. thanks so much for your suggestion though. i did find out that i might be able to find affordable boots at those shops i mentioned in my earlier post, and that there also a lot of small shoe shops scattered around mong kok and CB where prices are very competitive. thanks and take care!

Lane Crawford warehouse is in Horizon Plaza, Ap Lei Chau, at the 25/F. It's in HK side, near Aberdeen.
