foam mattress for new born

My sister in law gave me an used maxi-cosi. I intend to use it as a bed first few month when my baby is born.

Does anyone know how I can wash the foam mattress (about 4cm thick)? Can I wash the whole thing in water and soup then dry it? Thanks

By "Maxi-Cosi" do you mean a car seat or what exactly?

As for foam mattresses, they can usually be washed in water and (a little) soap. Check the manufacturer's website.

maxi cosi does carry cot (moses basket type thing) as well so i suppose that's what she meant...

thanks for helping to clarify. yes it's a carry cot. any ideas how to clean the mattress?
