Thought this one is workout fine with the exception that I have not come across anyone that come to do the job to be able to speak in any other language except Cantonese.

why dont you simply put up an advertisement in one of the park n shops or wellcome supermarket notice boards loads of fillipina maids looking for extra work look on those and some even advertise, and you could get a price of $50-60 per hour

Well there is that too, though im not sure how many domestic helpers surf asiaxpat, Ed I'm sure knows what the numbers are or how effective it is.

I used Merry Maid a couple of years ago when my helper was on holiday.

The great thing about the Merry Maid helpers is that they were reliable and punctual.

They showed up when they said they would.

I called them just right after I tried using a couple of part-time helpers advertised in an expat magazine. Unfortunately, the part timers were late, didn't show up or made some lame excuse as why they couldn't come.


After that experience, I was so grateful for Merry Maids.

They were experienced, tidy and quick.

They were slightly more expensive, but definitely worth it.


Also, they are "legal" workers.

I used MagicClean - fantastic service and great follow up after each job, However, language could be a problem, like what Jamie said. You could try to call them and ask...
