My baby is 5 wks old and she seems to have baby acne. Any mom out there that can give me some advice on this? How long does it last?

my baby had it mildly. i can't remember how long it lasted for but it went away by itself. i never used anything specific to treat it. i use seba med bubble bath and lotion though which is meant to be good for sensitive skin. i think it's better to use bath products that are mild. :)

Can last from weeks to months. It does go away even if you do nothing in particular.

Just leave it. This too shall pass. It's frustrating for photos, though, isn't it?

Baby acne is usually seen on the cheeks, chin, and forehead. It can be present at birth but usually develops around 3 to 4 weeks of age. Baby acne occurs when hormonal changes in the body stimulate oil glands in the baby's skin. The condition can look worse when the baby is crying or fussy, or any other instance that increases blood flow to the skin. Baby acne is harmless and usually resolves on its own within several weeks.

I have been cleaning my baby's face with cotton balls dapped with warm water only. It looks like the acne is beginning to clear up on it's own, but my baby's skin got a bit drier from the cleaning. Can I apply lotion on her face to moisturize it? If yes, any recommended lotion during this acne phase so that it doesn't make it worst?

Lotion? Absolutely. In many other climates this is a must. Our #1 spent her first few months liberally slathered with lotion. Below freezing (=dry air) + naturally dry skin is not a nice combination.

We used Aquaphor, which is fantastic and doesn't seem to affect the acne. Don't know if this is available in HK.
