Advice anyone please... a client wants to pay me for a project (HKD) and has advised the Macanese Cheque will take longer to process in my HK account.

Forgive my ignorance does this mean that he can write HKD from a Macau bank account?

How does it work? Don't want to ask him unless I really have to.

Perhaps you could contact your bank to find out the procedure they would follow and the time involved in processing a Macanese cheque.

Or, depending on the amount involved, request that the client submit an international money order.

Thanks for replies, for others interest, HSBC charges a fee this is a percentage of the value of the cheque and it takes 7 days for processing.
