Sewage smell - need someone competent

Still having the sewage gas smell emanating from somewhere in our guest toilet. I've sniffed around (like a dog) and believe that it's probably coming from the drain in the shower unit. My contractor came with a worker last Friday and both of them insisted that there was no smell! They really got my goat. Very frustrating. I only have myself to blame for having paid them in full prematurely.

Also noticed some acrid smell coming from the kitchen sink. Looked under the sink and noticed that there is no U-tube underneath it. I'll need to have the drain of the kitchen sink re-done so that a U-tube can be put in place.

The smelly toilet is getting on my nerves. What kind of professional/technician should I get so that there can be an end to the problem? Don't know if the shower unit will have to be demolished and re-done or there is a simpler solution to it.

Has anyone had similar experience? Where can I find a properly qualified and responsible professional/technician? SIGH .

We had a nasty nproblem smell in the kitchen when we first moved into our flat which hadn't been lived in for a long time. The bathroom floor drains had also been covered with tape as suggested in a post in your other thread, so the problem must have existed for a while.

The management office suggested flushing all the floor drains with lots of water - which we did - and the smell went away and hasn't come back.
