In England, near where my parents lived, there used to be a guy who drove around in his truck willing to take any appliance and furniture you wanted to throw out for free. He then fixed them or rycled the parts.
Is there anything similar here? I'm moving out to a new apartment soon and if I can't get rid of the furniture, and my landlady doesn't want to keep them there, is there somebody who'll come round and pick them up?
I'm trying to sell what I can on the classifieds, but ideally I'd like to know that somebody would come on the last day and take them away...

Hello, there is a charity called crossroads (at the gold coast) who will come and take your old furniture and they then send it on to people who need it in poorer countries.
