Is there anywhere in Hong Kong where you can buy a Westin Heavenly Bed?

No, 'fraid not. You need to order from the USA - details are on the Westin website.

I'm going to have to jump in and recommend a Hästen's bed. http://www.hastens.com/en-us/Stores/-Hong-Kong/

Expensive (we paid HKD 90k for a king size) but totally worth it if you do the math and figure you'll have it for 30 years or so. Comes with a 30 year frame warranty. They also have cheaper models (and more expensive!)

Thanks..will give it a try. I just had a couple of nights in the Westin in Taipei and never slept better on the Westin Heavenly..nice change from some of the wooden mattresses you get in Asia. I think the pillow top helps. Do the Hastens have a pillow top?

"Do the Hastens have a pillow top?"

Yes. Ours has (from bottom to top): box spring, mattress, pillow top, mattress protector (get the slightly thicker cotton one). So you're essentially lying on a good 50-60 cm of springs and stuff. Very comfortable.

Since we have a king (180cm) we got two box springs (90cm each). That way when we move the disassembled bed is easy to get through doors. The mattress, while being the full width, does bend quite a bit so it's not an issue.

There is a Westin in Macau - maybe they can ship one from there?

Sure. We have a king size Hästen's "Sheraton". It was SEK 80 000 (currently about 105k Honkies) and we bought it 7 or 8 years ago in Sweden. As I understand it, this model has been replaced by "Excelsior". We paid in installments over the next 2 years. The bed still feels like new and it was totally worth the price. When I lie down in most hotel beds my first thought is "I miss my bed".

If I recall correctly, the 2000T costs much more. We know the owner of the shop where we bought our and he said the 2000T was made in response to demand for an even more exclusive bed, but he doubted it was worth the extra money compared to Sheraton/Excelsior.

My friend has an Excel and loves it.

No problem. I sound like a salesman but we love that bed. It has also survived 5 moves, including 3 international and 2 intercontinental, without the least problem. Certainly can't say that about all our furniture!
