What does my gas power apart from stove top?

Hi, I'm moving house and need to know what my gas powers so I know when to have it cut off - is it likely to power anything else apart from the stove top? I live in an apartment in mid-levels.

that's what I wondered and was scared to turn off too early in case I had no hot water! I flick a switch with red light outside the bathroom/kitchen to get hot water - does that mean they are gas or electric?

I know I sound ridiculous but I don't think I have a heater? I know what you mean when I lived in the UK, I had a cupboard with a water heater and if it was gas there was a little blue flame. Here I don't have any water heater visible to me and I flick the switch next to the light when I want hot water and its instant hot water - do you think electric or gas?

"you have a red illuminated switch outside the bath room is definitly a gas heater."

Actually it can also be electric. Ours are electric and have a switch with a red light. The one in the kitchen is gas (obvious from the plumbing and the cool "whoosh" sound effect).

we live in Mid Levels and have the heater switch outside the bathroom next to the light and fan switches. We have an obvious gas heater on the wall above the bath and hear the 'woosh' of the gas igniting when we turn the hot water tap on. A green light light appears on the gas heater when it is switched on and when the hot water is heating a red light appears. Our apartment block is 9 years old.

why don't you ask one of the management staff. They should know.

Thanks everyone, I do feel rather silly not knowing, I don't get a whoosh but I do get clinking of pipes when I run the hotel water coming from under the sink. I'll ring the management company this morning and ask them they must know.

I do get a gas bill but it only tells me an amount and that could just be for the stove?

ok, if your gas bill is low say under HK$100 per month and you only do modest amount of cooking then you are probably only using it for the stove...

in any case, why not just cut it off on the day or day after you move out?

Not really answering the question but when it comes to turning off the gas when you move out (as long as you phone Towngas at least 2 business days in advance) they can come on the day you move out take a meter reading then send you the bill of what was used to your new apartment.
