Hello,
I am European and I just delivered my bb in Queen mary one month ago. This morning I went to pick up the Birth Certificate and surprisingly our baby has no rights to stay in hong kong , he actually depends our our working visa.
This year, I will apply my permanent ID as I am 7 years resident and my question is : Can my son enjoy the permanent residency if I am ?
Thanks for the information !

Yes you need to apply for Right of Abode for you son when you apply for your own permanent ID. He will then get a permanent ID card when he turns 11, before that he can have an endorsement sticker in his passport to confirm his residency status.

Marianne - it's not surprising, most European countries do not give rights to stay in their territories just because a bb is born there. First thing is get the bb a passport and then get a dependant visa. You will then be able to change to endorsement when you get your permanent residency status.
