Hi, I am toying with the idea of taking a trip from HK to Guangzhou by train for a few days. I have never been into China so I thought it'd be a good place to start!
I have some questions I am hoping I can get some help with:
I will need to bring my 8-9 month old baby and I would also like to avoid getting taxis with him for safety reasons...can anyone recommend a decent hotel that we could get to by train/metro/walking? Something 'family-friendly'?
How will people in GZ react to a very fair blue-eyed bub? In HK people smile and wave but keep their distance (which is good because he gets a little shy). I'm not comfortable with people trying to touch him as it would upset him - would this be an issue?
I'd like to bring our helper too - any issues with getting a visa for Filipinos?
Many thanks.

There's a lot of blue-eyed babies here, the natives look at them with curiousity and smile.
I know a few moms whose babychild model for catalogues and get good money.
Westin comes to mind, it's near the tube and the train to HK. And lot's of restaurant nearby to boot.
Go to China Travel Service if you need a visa for your Ayi(?).
