Do you know the best way to teach children to blow their noses?

My daughter is 4 but still does not know how to blow her nose and coughs out her mucus. Any good suggestions? Many thanks.

- Teach by example.

- Don't scold.

- Be patient.

- Reward good behavior, perhaps with a gold start. 10 gold stars = a treat.

Of course, why scolding her... She wants to learn but it is me that doesnt know how to show her. Instead of breathing out with her nose, she breathes in.

I find 4 is a bit young. I taught young children and a few 7 year olds were still learning. I'd ask her to practice with a mirror. Ask her to close her mouth and see if she can fog up the mirror with her breath from her nose. That should help her get the idea. Clap when she does it!

I guess it just takes time for some kids.
