try 4th floor in the Pedder Building, Pedder St. Loads of dresses cheaper than Sparkle and Evelyn B.

Quite a few of the sample shops sell them. There's one in Pottinger street on the left going up, I managed to get a nice Monsoon evening gown for $180! And there's a sample shop in Wanchai, on the left going towards Causeway Bay (sorry can't remember name or address of shop) which also has a lot of evening gowns. I'm sure there are many more also. You need to have a good search, but you can often find some real bargains.

I second the shop on the 4th floor of the Peddar building. I'm a size 16, so very hard to get stuff like that, but have managed to get 2 lovely evening dresses in there for around $600 each, Also got my daughters prom dress in there for $500 last year.
