My son will soon complete his first year of kindergarten. He has three teahers in his class (main teacher and two assistants). I would like to know what the practice is in Hong Kong with regard to gifts at the end of the school year. Do people give the teachers gifts? If so, what sort of things do you give? Price range? If any teachers reply to this thread, what gifts do you like to receive? Thanks!

I've never given teachers an end of year gift. In some schools in HK its actually frowned upon, so check with the school policy. Instead of a gift why not get your child to make a home made thank you card, it would have a lot more meaning than a box of chocolates.

I baked cookies with our son and gave those, he decorated the box, his teachers loved them. Also a great way for him to learn about giving and talking about the reasons why.
My SIL seems to most enjoy receiving pictures, and handmade cards from the children in her class, or a painted coffee/tea cup.
