Hi, all
We're expecting baby this summer and have been looking around everywhere for cirb, closet, drawer and plus furniture set.
IN HK, collections are ver limited and size too small..
So we decided to go for all custom made..
Anyone knows manufacture in HK or Shenzhen?
Also where can I make nice wood-letter for room deco? anybody done this before, please help 'over-excited mom to be'

Java Road in North Point has a couple of dozen stores that make custom furniture. Typically you're looking at 2-4 weeks from order to delivery.
Some of the store attendants don't speak English well, if at all, but drawings and pointing work.

be VERY careful where they get the wood..... from China- very dangerous... poisonous fumes from the wood, because it's cheaper from China.... some people I heard got furnitures custom made for their nursery, and the wood because from unknown area of China... had termites in them, and used paint that was poisonous... etc.
Absolutely NO quality control whatsoever.
For baby's furniture, I would NOT take my chances .... must buy from a reputable dealer.
Just my opinion.

Katetam raises good points. I would get unfinished wood and paint it myself. Or buy paint and get someone else to paint it.

yup, before getting it painted, have the wood sprayed by reputable pest control companies. We did that before allowing them to install a custom made closet in our nursery.

Other advice, I totally agree. Will have to find good one in the market then.
Hard to find big size cot in HK...also they don't carry 3 sets, most of case closets are too expensive and big they say.....Anyway, thanks again!

hisusie, when exactly are you having the baby? If it's very late summer our #2 will be more or less ready to get out of the cot and into a bed. Since that's the last kid we won't need it anymore.
It's a big white wooden American crib with a drawer, adjustable level and a drop-side (great for your back).
I don't want to promise anything but we should be looking to sell it in August/September.
