7 months is fine for all those. Just keep the portions very small the first couple of times with a new food. You never know what the reaction will be, or if any latent allergies will trigger. Also some kids may hate a food the first time, and love it the second, or in a month. Unpredictable. So you have to keep trying.
There are only a few foods you need to watch out with, but I can only think of one right now: Honey. Not under 12 months (some people say 24 months).

thanks! the other things i was thinking about is bread - what sort do you give your baby - and also do you toast it?
and pasta - is there special baby pasta or can you give any types?!

special baby pasta suitable for such small babies is not available in hong kong. I used de cecco's capellini. put in in food processor so it gets broken into small bits. then cook it for about 6minutes. i think i introduced it to baby around 7 months, with a bit of parmesan cheese. it was and is still one of his favoirite foods.
Chicken and Red meat: around 7 months should be fine.
Fish: I waited till he was almost 9 months.

I recently bought peter rabbit pasta from bumps to babes. Its a rice pasta and cooks in 1 minute and really small in size.

In general I'd say that you can try more or less anything in a very small portion a couple of times and see what happens. All babies are different. But there are really very few actual restrictions. It's up to baby. If you just don't shock and awe them with new foods and take it slow they'll eat most things.
An example: The other day our 12 month old, sitting in Mommy's lap, reached out for Mommy's quite hot Indian shrimp curry. We were like "oh well, she eats everything else. Worst case we give her some water and rice". She looked confounded for a minute, chewing slowly. Then she reached for more. Didn't stop for a couple of minutes either. Note that this is stuff that makes me sweat and almost cry it's so strong! Just goes to show that it depends on the baby.
"thanks! the other things i was thinking about is bread - what sort do you give your baby - and also do you toast it?"
Pretty much any bread except perhaps not the most extreme whole wheat stuff. Perhaps avoid bread with large seeds in it. Toasting works is an option. Works either way. Just make sure you give small pieces to start with. After a while you can give larger pieces and baby will just sit there and suck on it until it liquefies and is ready to swallow.
"and pasta - is there special baby pasta or can you give any types?!"
The only real consideration is form factor. The "rice" pasta you find in the grocery store is easier to eat with a spoon and less liable to get stuck on the way down than big pieces.

Citrus fruits and acidic vegetables like tomatoes are usually delayed until babies are 10 to 12 months of age. Some sources recommend introducing egg yolk from 9 months onwards but do not give egg whites until one year of age. Egg whites tend to be allergenic.
If your baby was or is still breastfeeding and there is no family history of allergies he is less likely to exhibit allergies, therefore, you may slowly introduce the other foods listed.

Pasta - I found organic alphabet pasta at Park n Shop which is all different colours. I just overcook it slightly so it's really soft and cut each piece in half. I also found tiny alphabet pasta at CitySuper which mix into vege puree - good for babies who aren't quite chewing their food.
I didn't know about the egg whites being potentially allergenic...I give my 9 month old mashed hard-boiled eggs with no problems so I guess it's OK for us.

You can also cook the pasta, then use a potato press to make a sort of mash out of it.
