Hi All,

Can anyone share with me where to take my 2 year-old on the weekends?

We go to Disneyland so many times that many of their staffs actually know us! Ocean Park is just about the same way.

Thanks!!!

Here are a couple of ideas:

- One of the South Side beaches. Bring accessories like a bucket. Don't forget sunscreen.

- Hong Kong Park.

- The promenade from Repulse Bay to Deep Water Bay. You're not likely to go the whole distance but it should be a fun adventure.

- Sai Kung.

There's a book called "Hong Kong for Kids" that you could buy.

Dear WuFamily,

there is loads to do in HK - at 2 yrs your child will be happy doing lots of stuff that wont cost as much as Disney and Ocean Park

All the beaches listed by the other users are great. try taking a sampan from Sai Kung to HapMun Bay. How about just walking around the waterfront looking at all the amazing things in the seafood restaurants?

There is a lovely walk around the top of the peak with a playground around half way round. the tram is a nice thing to do but the other stuff up there can wait til your child is a bit older.

Have you been for a walk aalong the Harbour front at night to look at the lights?

There are so many fantastic places to have a lovely walk - my kids adore going to Tai Po Kau - they get to paddle and walk up the river bed, make dams enjoy the trees and hopefully see some Monkeys.

Any of the parks are good - Shatin, Kowloon, Victoria. Now the weather is warming up go swimming - most of the public pools have really nice toddler pools

stay home and make some play dough together then use it

as axpatguy38 says - get the book!

Have fun together

Why not visit Inspirational Lake near HK disneyland. There is a great playarea with water area - bring your swim stuff. Its a vast area with grass YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SIT ON!! and some pedaloes though wouldnt recommend them as we tried it and although you get life jackets our little one terrified me in moving about and was sure we would end up in the water. Take a picnic. There is a nice 7/11 where you can buy drinks and snacks too.

We took a trip out to Sai Kung town and my kids loved watching the fish and other sea creatures in the tanks then we took a sampan out for an hour.

My kids love going to Tai Po Waterfront Park. The park is huge and has various playgrounds, has a beautiful range of flowers and plants on display.

You can also hire bikes to ride on the designated bike paths (I think the bike path goes all the way to Shatin?). We usually take a picnic with us and sometimes take a kite to fly. My daughter also loves the insect house there.

Inspiration lake is great, my 6 and 8 year olds love taking their bikes up there and zooming round, and to be able to play and picnic on the grass is great.

2 year olds are very easily amused, even walking round PNS is an adventure to them.

Young kids will like Snoopy's World in Shatin, which is free. Then you could take a walk in the park along the Shing Mun river, and maybe even take in the History Museum which has a nice kid's educational play area.
