Somehow I don't think legislators from Hong Kong or even its Chief Executive is going to be able to sway top communist party cadres of the Peoples Republic of China and be able to influence domestic policy in that country. Though I really do admire anyone that makes an attempt at changing things in this fashion.

I believe that some of the legislators have been banned from entering China themselves for their political views. My feeling is that the CEO may have a direct link to Beijing, but don't the legislatures see themselves as not the "government"?

It is still better to do that than noting. On top of it it might help if we also send letters to our respective consulates and Chambers of Commerce.
