I have several sun fly bites I got while outdoors/by the pool.
They are so itchy! And even after several days (3 already), they still are. What do you apply to relieve the itch? Any sun fly repellant available?
I bought a sunblock in Singapore that also repels sun flies, but that was years ago. Anything similar available?

"Mike Mozzie" works pretty well against these. It's sold at Bumps to Babes. Yellow bottle.

there is also a brand called rid at bumps to babes which is combined bug and sunblock

Here is a home solution - dettol and water - proportion dependent on the level of problem in the area you are visiting/living.
We pop a drop in the bath with the kids (and ourselves) before going out and I make up a spray with a small house plant sprayer (from Japan home store) that I carry with me (2 parts dettol 98 parts water).
At this time of year when they seem to be all around, we use a larger sprayer and spray the garden and balconies, which keeps them away from the house too.
Have been using it for years and recommended to many people - seems to work a treat, you do however smell a bit like dettol.

I try to pat instead of scratch but the red marks take so long to disappear.
Chatterbox,
Which dettol do you use? Not exactly sure which one you're referring to. They have a whole line of products..
