Dont think you get self service in Hong Kong, there are tons of laundrettes which will gladly do you washing for you and return your clothes all folded up, but if you are unhappy with the detergents they use or the general quality of service, i think the only thing you can do is buy yourself a washing machine.

Thanks so much for your advice! I really do wish I had room for a washing machine! I guess I can't really complain about a serviced wash though, just have a personal preference to do my own laundry. All your help is much appreciated however!

a slight problem - the serviced launderettes only wash at 80-100 degrees when i only need 40 degrees!

Not much you can do about that. Personally I always thought serviced wash was alright.
