I have 3 kids and drive myself everywhere with no trouble

Guess if you can afford it or get it covered by work then it might be worth considering.

I have lived with and without drivers - prefer the freedom of driving myself.

I live there for many years and found that Happy Valley could be a nightmare if you need to get anywhere in the morning... particularly if it rains. But if you dont need to get out before 930 then its very easy to get taxis.

I have driven in HK for 11 years with 5 kids, never had a problem parking. If you have to choose between a helper and a driver, go for the helper to help your wife with the housework.

It is so easy to live in Happy Valley, trams, taxis, buses etc are abudant. There has been the occasional time when raining that hve had to wait for taxi but very rearly. Don't see that a driver would be needed. If you do hire a driver can you inform him not to sit in the car with the engine ideling seems to be so prevalant these days and the norm is to sit with the engine on, aircon on, window open, puffing away on a cigarette......
