Has anybody noticed these increasing food prices at the store (i.e.) dairy products & meats must be up 30% plus over the last few months. Even canned goods. Wine prices are down considerably but one can not live on just that (unfortunately).

Its not just due to weak dollar, its higher oil prices, substitution by farmers into corn for ethanol and other bio fuels, droughts in producer countries like Australia, govt intervention, increased demand from emerging economies etc etc, and its affecting everyone across the board. Particularly those in poorer countries, and it doesn't look like its going to get better any time soon either and should be a real cause of concern for everyone.

Nobody is doubting what the planet is capable of doing though I think 24 billion people is perhaps wildly speculative and we would have problems well before then. Its what the planet is currently doing and what it was doing previously that is causing the rise in food prices. It will take some time before market forces come in to effect and bring prices down again.
