Alas, even 10-12 seems to sometimes be a problem here. Stanley market might have some stuff though.

They 'oh-so-euphamistically' call it 'western size' so I hear!

It's actually not euphemistic. It's real. Sizing is dramatically different in HK or Japan compared to, say, the US. For example I buy T-shirts in small in the US. Here in HK I'm a medium or a large.

yeah, I took a size XL in a pair of pants I bought in Melbourne when in normal sizes I was an Aussie 10/medium. The woman explained that the shop catered mainly for Asian women. The thing that shocked me was that the biggest size in the shop was a snug fit on me!

Yeah it really does make you wonder. My wife has this problem all the time. She bought a pair of shorts in XXL and they're snug. She's pretty average size by Scandinavian standards and buys "M" there.

If you look at the locals they are very slim and petite in comparison to Northern Europeans. Narrow hips, thin limbs, small feet. In Japan this is even more pronounced. I swear I saw lots of thighs that had the same diameter as my forearms.
