This is probably a stupid question, but here goes...We sent off our passports to get a visa and it got delayed 2 weeks longer than it was supposed to. We had planned a trip to Macau Wednesday and don't have our passports. There isn't anyway around this is there?? Just hate loosing the hotel deposit because it is less then 24 hrs. and the ferry tickets we prepurchased.

I can't see a satisfactory solution I'm afraid.

Some countries issue "emergency passports" on short notice. Typically not at consular stations, however. In any case this would also void the old ones and since you're getting the visas in those....
