New Expat Grocery Store at the Peak

ORIGINAL POST

Hi Everyone,

Just was at the peak this weekend for a bit of lunch. On my way up in the taxi I passed what looked like a new expat focused grocery store opening. Seemed to be catering to the luxary shopper but I did not stop to go in. Has anyone been and if so, how was it? If not, does anyone know when it opens.

Thanks again!!

If you mean where Welcome was, it's just been referbed and given a new name - not much has changed other than the interior - the fruit, veg and meat are marginaly better (would still go to Great for meat, good cheese, and good bread though). There's now an Italian deli and an organic cafe in the Galleria though.

no, foxhole means the one before the Peak i think - there is indeed a new place - called something market, or something like this - it is just above an estage agent i seem to remember.

It is as AimeeJ says - the old Wellcome under the name of Marketplace by Jasons - and most of the stuff is the same as the wellcome, same staff. Bit more room to get about and nicer shelving but I havent seen a lot of new products.

It's not crazy, it's business. ;) I bet if they didn't have both spots, PnS would open a store in 2 seconds flat.

Also it's not 2 Wellcomes, it's a Wellcome and a Marketplace by Jason. ;) All about the branding.

BTW in case you were wondering, Great and Taste are also PnS.

The one in the Galleria is a Park'n'Shop.
