Hi,
Was planning a trip to Shenzen with some visitors and went to travel agent to check on what I needed to do to get a visa for China. They told me that they have now changed the regulations again and you can only get a visa if you have a hotel voucher and air ticket (amongst other things). Basically he told me no more visa for day trips to Shenzen!
Antyone else heard of this or know anything about it? I knew it was harder to get a visa but didn't know it was impossible!
Cheers

try at the main china visa building in wanchai. I got double entry 5 day shenzhen visa last week without any hotel res, but rules seem to be changing on a daily basis. if you get there before 8 you should be out around 9:30. I am assuming you have HKID.

That's not very practical for the rest of us.

Can anyone confirm that the 5 day visa is valid for Guangzhou as well as Shenzhen? Was told this fine when got visa in Wanchai, but everything seems to change all the time.
Also has anyone had any problems crossing the border with a five day visa? Such as asking for hotel reservations etc.
Help would be greatly appreciated as don't want any surprises when i go on Saturday.

thanks DB, but have read thoroughly. one post says need hotel voucers, tickets to go through border, another says that is not required. Just trying to get up to date info.
Also no answers to my second question, as to whether ok to travel to Guangzhou on the 5 day visa. I have hotel there, but the way things are don't want to get turned away for going out of Shenzhen!!!!!!!!! all very confusing.

Is the Shenzhen visa physically different to the full China visa?
I checked and mine is exactly the same as my previous full China visas apart from the maximum duration. Was assuming it was the Shenzhen visa because of the 5 day stay but clearly stated on my application that I was travelling to GZ and Huizhou.

Thanks all for you input. So hard to keep up as the regulations seem to change hourly, and depending on who you talk to!
One more question, this is all new to me so I'm checking IF I do actually manage to get a visa, is there a time limit on how long after getting the visa I must enter China? I mean, if is there any problem with my attempting to get the single or double entry visa in the next few days if I'm not planning to go to China until the end of the month? Will it still be valid?
Sorry! I'm confusing myself!

My double entry visa is valid for 3 months.

I already have a multiple-entry business visa issued in UK and expiring in a year's time. Travelled to GZ last week for a day-trip and had no problems but have to go to SZ soon just for the day. Anyone know if they are likely to cancel my visa?
