We are planning a 5 day trip to Tokyo with two kids - almost 4 and 1 yr old. Any suggestions on places to stay, kid-friendly attractions and good restaurants will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

We went there recently. We didn't bring our kids though. It's much "easier" than HK. Wide sidewalks, relaxed atmosphere, much lower stress level. ;) Note that lots of the train/subway stations have no elevators or escalators, so you need to be ready for carrying.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Ginza (free thx to loyalty points). Great area if you like shopping. The shopping in Tokyo makes even HK look like a small town.

As for kid friendly stuff, I don't really know. Tokyo Disneyland I guess. But I don't know what would be different from HK Disneyland.

Restaurants:

- We found great ones in the "Time Out" guide to Tokyo. They are also on the web.

- Sushi is at a whole other level. You can walk into pretty much any conveyor belt sushi and get fantastic quality.

- "Beacon" in Shibuya has amazing steak, including Wagyu, and is generally a fine restaurant. We went there twice in our four days.

- In general, the quality of food seems very high. A bit like Italy or France where you can just pick anywhere that is open and be satisfied. In my very personal opinion HK doesn't measure up in this respect.

If you are willing to get up at 5, definitely go to the Tsukiji fish market. It's quite a sight. Also sushi fresh off the boat at 6 in the morning is fantastic. Mmmmmm.
