I recently got the DVD player model (Tiburon from Hyundai, PDVD-3000LV) as a gift...
I connected the S-cable and the other three cables(yellow, white and red) to the Xbox of my TV. But the player doesnt seem to recognise the files present in the dvd
I wrote the dvd as normal dvd (not video dvd) and they contain movie files (in many formats like .avi, .rmvb,etc.). But when the DVD is played, the files are not shown in the title menu. It just shows folders.
I also wrote a dvd that contains only audio and video songs. When loaded, the player shows the files present in the DVD (not all of them but most of them). It also plays the songs when selected. So what is the problem with the other discs?
I also have another problem. The player does not display the file names in the menu. It just shows as a blank tab.
The thing it plays video songs (which are present in .avi format) but it does not recognise the movies files (which are also present in the .avi format).
Details:
Monitor : Philips 42FD 9954
TV receiver : Philips FTR 9964
DVD player : Hyundai Tiburon PDVD-3000LV
Pls help me out. Many thanks in advance to all who help me out here!!!

It could be a codec issue - on a computer you are able to download certain codecs to be able to play the video files, but you can't do that on the DVD player. Therefore if its not in a format (including codec type) that the player recognises its not going to be able to play the files.
You could possibly try to reburn the files onto a DVD as a DVD - that may work.

Definitely sounds like a codec issue. Do you know if theplayer supports DivX/Xvid?
