I have recently resigned from a job where my manager was causing me a lot of stress and made me feel like I had to tread on eggshells, yet I am feeling "down" now I have completed my one month's notice and have left the firm.
I am a gweipor with no Asian language skills and the agencies don't sound too positive about me finding another role
Am I crazy to feel like this - or do you think this is a natural reaction as I adjust to the shift of routine.
Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated

hi sorry to hear you are having a crappy time but I think you have done the right thing to leave if it was really causing you grief to be there. What kind of work are you looking for? I'm looking for PA work and I don't have any Asian language skills either so if you know any agencies can you let me know too! How long were you at you last job? It's always good to have another job first but hey, sometimes it's just unbearable and you have to leave. Keep you chin up I am sure you will find something else, let everyone you know know and best jobs are through friends I think.

depedns on your skills etc, but I was told (quite a lot actually) that it is very hard to find a job in HK without Mandarin (not even Cantonese, but Mandarin). I have been transferred from overseas office to HK one, so am lucky to have a job, otherwise I think I would have struggled finding one here.... But again, depends on what you do of course!

I seriously think that there are plenty of jobs here. First at all, you have to spend some time on the internet either for job placement agency or other companies that are within your industry, or best your company's competitors. Not having the asian lauguage skill is not as bad as it sounded, especially when u are shooting for a management position. Be positive, often times you only find the things you want when u are desperate.
