Here i go again, thinking may be this forum is more suitable.
Does anyone know any horse riding school besides Jockey Club's? Not to become a jockey but just for fun for my daughter. Tks.

Try Lo Wu Saddle Club, in Ho Sheung Heung, Sheung Shui. Tel 2673 0066 but the website is down for repair. They take children from age 5, I believe, for pony riding lessons.

Tks Taylor12, another member has posted a list of all the horse riding schools in Hong Kong. So give it a try. Thanks.

I think your best bet might be in Tuen Mun or Lei Yue Mun (jockey club's.) The Lo Wu Saddle Club is (sorry), crap. In addition to that, they're not BHS (British Horse Society) approved.

To each his own, I guess, but many children seem to enjoy riding there. Also, Lo Wu Saddle Club is now BHS approved.

L142sEnToSa, obviously been there b4? Can you please tell me why you think it is crap? I am thinking taking my daughter there soon. Tks.

Yes Amanda, I remember that you are taking your son there. But did you say this November and now you can start early? (^-^).

Amanda, tks for your update. Currently I am not in Hong Kong but I hv put my daughter's name down for classes on leads in June. As usuall, I was told "on the WL". Will give them a call again in June. Do let me know how you get on this Sunday. Are you going to take the lead yourself? They said I need to pay a tip to the carer if I want them to lead but they didnt say how much. Of course, I want to do it myself but I have no expereince at all in handling horses.

really? Lo Wu saddle club is now BHS qualified? there's nothign of that on the official BHS site.

maybe it's not up yet.
but my friend has ridden at LWSC and jockey club before, and she said the way that they taught at LWSC was basically crap. She's been riding at jockey club ever since. Her main complaint was the the instructors were hindering her abilities to progree.
hope this helped.

Ah, your friends sounds quite an advanced rider to me. My daughter wl only be joining the pony class on leads. She shld be alright then (^-^). Tks for your reply anyway.

The school sounds promising to me. Although sometimes it depends on the instructor too, obviously you got a good one. And Amanda, how tall is your son? The tip sounds reasonable too. I thought of 100.- or more, thats good news. Does Andrew speak English all the time?

Hi Amanda, tks for the details and advice. In fact my daughter only understands English at the moment. Hope she will catch up with her chinese when we come back and stay in Hong Kong. I just assume Andrew is Chinese. English obviously suits my daughter. LW really sounds a great place to me. Carers sound great too. It wont be so nice if they just work for money, I guess, as the tip is not a lot. But if they love horses and children that is really FANTASTIC.
Oh yes even pony is a BIG thing.... my daughter is only just about 100cm and she is not a dare devil like your son (^-^). Anyway, I will give her the chance and let her see it herself.
How was the train museum? Disappointed? There isnt much to see, is there? I think only for those who had travelled in those old trains before (I used them everyday when I was a teen) wld enjoy seeing them again but you cant call there a museum, can you (^-^).
So how did you get to LW Centre? Taxi from Sheung Shui Station?
