Hi all, I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my second child. I'm going to have my baby at a public hospital, I saw that no children under 12 are allowed in the wards during visiting hours. What does people do when they have under 12 kids and you want to see him/her also during your hospital stay?
The babies are not allowed out of the ward, they have tags to protect them from stealing. (I guess) And I would like my 4 year old son to meet and see his new baby sister.

There really isn't anything you can do about arranging a hospital meeting; your son will have to wait. BUT the hospital will allow you to take video and pix, and you can share these with your 4 year old. This is what we did with our 4.5 year old, and he was happy to see the pix since he didn't know about meeting babies inside the hospital. Our son came to visit many times, and we just met in the public/ non-ward areas. Unless you have medical insurance to 100% cover costs, I wouldn't consider switching to private hospital for this child visiting policy.
