Sharp TV - Good Experience

ORIGINAL POST

Hi All,

just thought I'd share my experience with you regarding my recent "technical problem" with my new toys (Sharp GX3 LCD tv and Playstation 3.

I'd had my TV for a couple of months, it had been working fine and dandy with my computer hooked up to in full 1080p goodness.

Then, I bought a playstation 3.

Running the PS3 resulted in the screen of my TV flickering and showing static every now and then ..

I emailed Sharp.

Two days later, they called me and asked when it would be convenient for a technician to come to my home.

He came over, turned out the problem was simply the HDMI cable I was using, bought a new one, problem solved.

What's the point of this post? I just wanted to point out the brilliant customer service from Sharp, I barely even expected a response to my email, let alone a technician coming to my home(after hours no less!!!) to inspect my TV.

Well done Sharp!

Nice to hear! Not to hijack the thread but I have had more or less the same experience with LG.

- First the TV (low volume). Tech came out. Turns out it was my fault. But "no problem". No charge.

- Then the DVD reader in the Receiver broke. Went to service center. Replaced in a week.

- Then the Receiver didn't send sound to one of the speakers. Called up. "Free at service center, or tech can come home for 100 Honkies". Tech came home. Replaced most of the innards. All works.

Very friendly. No fuss. The tech always calls you at the appointed time and arrives within 15 minutes of when he says he will.

I mentioned this to someone the other day and he pointed out that, in HK, we either get really great service, or really terrible service..

quite true.

(btw, my TV is a 37", so not some super expensive one)
