i think at 8 months still in purees, i would go for something like cod, or wild salmon (not farmed one it has colouring in it), try to stick to organic/wild if you can. Just steam/microwave a fillet in a bit of milk with a bay leaf and a couple of pepercorns (make sure to take them out after cooking). Then flake it with your fingers to make sure there are no bones and add to any veg puree. There are a lot of recipes in Annabel Carmel book (by age) - might help for ideas!

Hi, whatever fish you give, make sure you try a little first for allergies. I tried both cod & wild salmon from 360 for my little boy at 9mths & 12 mths, but they both made his bum red. He didn't seem bothered by it, but that is the only thing he reacts to amongst all his foods. I waited till 14 mths and tried fresh swimming fish from the market (don't know their english names) with white flesh and he's been eating them happily 1-2x a week. Every baby is different, maybe yours is a fish-lover!

Agreed with Idsllvn. Nothing very much at the top of the food chain, like tuna or swordfish.

Cod, snapper, red throat emperor, trout, salmon, sole...

BTW the coloring in salmon is typically based on carrot, but I agree it makes the fish look odd.

aussieorganics.com has great fish btw.
