I just made a booking for the application of my son's smart ID at the Immigration Tower. From their website it looks like I just need to take his Hong Kong birth certificate with me (and my own ID). Anyone has been through this lately? My questions are:

(1) Does my son have to show up in person?

(2) Any other supporting documentation required?

I tried to call the immigration help line but it was constantly busy.

(1) No your son does not need to show up in person. (2). No other supporting documentation required. Do just as what their website mentioned.
