Boating in HK

ORIGINAL POST

I will be moving to HK soon, and love sailing/boating. I have a small zodiac. Does anyone know the practicalities of bringing it with me/using it in HK? I've been sailing all my life, but I don't have any bits of paper to say so. Would there be any problems? Do you need a license? I'm not rick either - what are the costs?

Thanks

Try speaking to the HK yacht club or the Aberdeen Boat club, I am sure they can help you, if you google them you will be able to get the telephone numbers

Sell the boat there is plenty of opportunity to sail here many people looking for capable crew. Also check out Hebe Haven Yacht Club.

Yeah talking to the marine department or at least checking their website would also be a good idea

If the engine is over 4 hp then the whole boat needs to be registered and you will need a HK license. HK marine dept. don't recognize any other license and you can't convert
