Hello,
I just moved to HK and would like to learn to play squash. Can anyone recommend an organization that offers lessons for beginning players, or alternatively a good private instructor who charges reasonable hourly rates? Ideally, I would like to find lessons/instruction in Central or nearby areas (Mid-Levels, Wan Chai, etc).

I think there is a squash center in Hong Kong park on garden road in central. Its supposed to be pretty good. I am sure if you were to find a coach, that would be the best place to start.

Thanks for the link. This claims to be the biggest squash center in the city (12 courts), and the location is very convenient. However, there is nothing on the site about squash lessons, i will call and ask ...

Or better still go down there and take a look, I am sure that is where coaches hang out and coach their students. Its unlikely that the center itself will provide coaching details, though they might, coaching is normally done independently.

I just started to play squash this month, I just found someone who taught me of the the basic hitting and I just keep doing, then read on the internet about the rules. I think its a good way to start if you can't find someone a coach.

Thanks. At this point do you think you have been able to learn enough about the game and basic hitting strokes to play a real match? And if so, have you found a league of any kind that might cater to beginning players?
