Pretty much any yogurt that does not contain aspartame (sweetener) is fine but I would recommend full fat ones. Kids should not eat low fat dairy unless they have serious weight issues.

Some good ones: Petit Filous, Petit Miam (fromage but close enough to yogurt), Yo' Baby, Yoplait (full fat variants), Dannon All-natural.

See my post re: EasiYo...it's by far the best one I've tried for my son.

Hi i've bought Yoplait and bub loves it. but just wondering how much should i give? it comes with a tub of 60g...and surely that's too much for one year old? it has 8.7g sugar..is that alright? i have been strict in no sugar and salt so far...

and how frequent would you feed your bub yogurt? daily? weekly?

axptguy38 and katiefran, where can you buy those brands recommended that are in plain flavors? or is plain flavor avaliable at all? right now i buy petit miam for my baby who is 17 months old but would be happy to try a real yoghurt. can babies eat those ädult yoghurt (full fat)?

thanks

Plain flavor I dunno. Go to the supermarket and see what they have. Some kids might not like the acidity of plain yogurt.

Apart from that you can find most of what I mentioned at Wellcome-

"can babies eat those ädult yoghurt (full fat)? "

Yes. At 17 month old he/she can eat pretty much anything that you eat as long as the consistency is right. Our 14 month old eats spicy curry, couscous, any kind of veggie and fruit, grilled chicken pieces (not mashed), cheese, yogurt, grilled salmon (not mashed), etc...

All you really need to watch out for apart from choking hazards like nuts is high salt content and of course the total nutritional value of the diet. Full fat for dairy is a good thing.

Hi..my baby has been eating the plain full fat adult yogurt since she was 8-9 mths old....if i want to give it as a dessert then i just mix a fruit with it such as mango, strawberries, blueberrier and sometimes banana too..it becomes a delicious yogurt smoothy. You can yogurt everyday with every meal if u wish to...cant go wrong with that...I give mine everyday with lunch and dinner and she loves her plain yogurt..

Earlier I would buy any of the full fat ones available in the market but now I have started making at home..its very easy and if u are interested i could pm u the receipe..

you can make your own yoghurt at home. just warm up some milk in micorwave till it's about 40-50degrees celsius.

Then add a couple of tablespoons of dairyfarm yoghurt. leave undisturbed overnight or till 24hours depending on how warm the day is, and you can have your own full fat, no sugar, no salt no plastic packaged yoghurt at home.

once set you can put in the fridge. the longer you leave it out the more acidic or sour it will become.

my baby went through a phase at 8-9months when he loved plain kefir and yoghurt, but now at 15 months doesnt want it, apart from when it's mixed with a bit of rice.
