I would go directly to the Hermes, Chanel and Gucci - they are your best bet.

Definitely... totally agree with ldsllvn.
If you know where theywere bought and have an idea about when, you may even contact the head-office or Hermes & Chanel, they may keep a record of things bought from them (maybe even Gucci)....
Otherwise, they shall be able to authentify them & give you the name of the model & year of "production"
