Can anyway recommend a good brand to buy here in Hong Kong and where did you buy it, as it is not popular and I found it a bit difficult to find. Thanks.

I had one a while back that was bought in Wing On Department Store, sorry I cannot remember the brand anymore, it did the job, but after using it for a while I found it to be a big pain in the behind and vowed never to use one if possible ever again

Sori DB, what exactly was the problem?

I am not very patient, though it is pretty fast in terms of heating up, you cannot replace the instant gratification of seeing a flame. More importantly, I have burnt myself on more than one occasion on the plate after turning it off, because it takes a while to cool down once you have turned it off, but loses its red colour almost instantly, so if you are doing the washing up or whatever after having used it, and you touch the plate because there is no warning, be prepared to be burned.

Digital Blonde, an induction hob solves all that except the lovely flame. Instant heating just like with a gas cooktop. But you can put your hand on it and not feel anything even when it's on full power since your hand is not conductive.
The downside is that all cookware, needs to have steel or iron elements. Aluminum and teflon pans need steel cores or they won't work on induction hobs. Most quality cookware nowadays works on induction hobs so it's not a huge issue.

Yeah I bought and used mine years and years ago and it was just an electric hot plate, I wasn't even aware there were induction hobs, even still, I am going to prefer a flame, when you adjust it at least you can see it respond.
