I you are an Aussie with a HK ID card, you can get a visa at the border and it will cost you HK$150. The visa is only for a single entry

I went up three weeks ago and got a visa at the border - NZ passport and HK ID card was required. No forms outside the visa office anymore. You need to ask for a form and they won't give you one without producing a HKID card

Saw an Aussie guy turned away from the Zhuhai port on Saturday morning, they would not issue a visa to him from the visa office. Not sure if he was a HKIC holder or not

I rang two visa agencies today. Both told me Aussies with HKID cannot get single entry visa at border. One agency said the could get one for me by tomorrow for the cost of ... $2,100 ($1,600 if I could produce a hotel voucher and return ticket). Why bother going at that cost? But anecdotal evidence suggests Aussies with HKID can still get one at border for $150. What is going on?????????

KB,
Of course they will say that go yourself at $150 or pay them $2100 what do you expect the agent to tell you. NZlawyergirl did it herself so you are getting info from the horses mouth so to speak not from a rip off merchant.
