Hi, could anyone reccomend a good and effective multivitamin especially for varicose and spider veins. The only one I know is centrum.

Multivitamins won't help, except as a supplement for general health if your diet is deficient. Compression hosiery and creams that help to improve circulation will be of more benefit - take a look on Google for info on what can be done to reduce or remove the veins.

I don't think the food supplement industry is evil, but it is making massive profits by taking full advantage of consumers buying products because they've been convinced they need them. As a rule, we cannot self-medicate with pharmaceuticals off the shelf on the basis of a friend mentioning that drug x worked for them, and I don't believe we should do it with food supplements. If there was regulation, then perhaps there wouldn't be all this hearsay and people wouldn't believe that vitamins and minerals have magical powers to cure ailments such as varicose veins and cysts. Rather, they would see an appropriate doctor for their specific condition and supplements would be used judiciously, i.e. to enhance general health when their diet is lacking.


I was just trying to point the OP in the right direction and help them save money. Especially as food supplements in HK are so damned expensive!

food supplements are not drugs so no curative effects are being claimed but it helps a lot of people (me included) for improving general health and well being.
