I am with 3 at the moment and am having many problems with my messages actually being sent to people and people being able to reply to my SMS.


I have spoken to 3 about this MANY times and I now, I am just fed up. I want to switch.


I currently have Blackberry on my Nokia, but that is not necessary to keep for me. I do a lot of overseas calls and SMSs as well.


Any suggestions for a good provider?

I also use 3 and don't experience any of these problems.


However SMS problems amoungst others have plagued some models of Nokia phones. It sounds like it's your handset at fault not your service provider.

Have you tried actually going to one of their shops in person and asking them?

I also had a problem with sms when I came to HK and I understand very little about all the setting and stuff, after I called the provider few times with no success (was 'sunday' today pccw) I went to one of their guys and he simply changed something in the setting of my phone and since then everything went perfectly fine.

Interesting. Are you using the same sim card that you used in the LG?

No, they have replaced the sim card about 5-8 times, (lost count)


The phone is also brand new as someone stole mine in March, so all brand new now.

Well that's the 3 main problems discounted. It's not the network, it's not the phone and not the sim. So can only be settings on your account. So if 3 are unwilling to investigate then it's time to move on, however customers service is pretty comparable across all of the providers.


As for the providers themselves, well not much difference between 3, CSL and Vodafone. All about the same, all with their good spots and black spots all over HK. Peoples, Sunday and New World are not really worth mentioning (and do not do 3G), PCCW ain't great on it's 3G network either. Check the tariffs each are offering and see what matches your needs the most.

I am also having problems with 3.


It's about their employees' lack of knowledge.


One shop customer service person tells one thing, then I call their Customer Hotline and they tell completely different.


So I got tricked by the shop sales person and ended up signing on a plan that I didn't want.


Now I got stuck with it for next 18months and can't change it.


Their sales representatives don't even know that they are talking about!! It's so awful.

I think 3 CS staff is in China and don't sufficient info and background to support. most famous band are SMV-Vodafone and CSL.. However, there are a lot of complaints about the data service usage and flow limit.
