Does anybody know if Royal enfield motorcycles can be purchased new in HKG? or does anybody have a royal enfield for sale, or can I import one from India?

I have never seen one In Hong Kong. You can certainly buy one from India and import it, But you will not be allowed to ride it in Hong Kong

there is a link explaining why. RE do have export models for sale, just not in India, you would have to go to the UK or US for that

I have seen a few on the road here thee was an importer a few years ago not sure if he is still going. Ask the bike shops they will know

Met a guy ca 1997 that had imported his own from India; its possible, just a lot of hazzle to register it.

Well according to the company, you cant drive an Enfield on US or European roads because an Indian Enfield doesnt meet regulations or standards, but I do not know whether that extends to HK roads as well.

I understood that was because of the light fittings height and brightness etc. You can retro fit modern lights for the registration test then go back to the originals once passed.
