Water Damage

Hi, we are experiencing water damage in our apartment from the apartment upstairs (their balcony).

Unfortunately, the owner of the upstairs apartment is not cooperating to fix the balcony. This has been going on for a couple of years and we're fed up with it..

Can anyone recommend a govt dept to go thru for complaints to maybe enforce action? or a good lawyer? Any experience to share? Suggestions?

Thanks

Thanks. We're in a ground floor apartment. Is the FEH Dept effective in forcing the upstairs owner to take corrective action? how long does it take? can we also claim damages to inside walls?

thanks

sorry to revive this old thread

i want to find out that does the Deed of Mutual Covenant put any responsibility/liability on the management/Incorporated owners in resolving a water seepage issue from apartment next door?

In brief my apartment have a HUGE water seepage from the apartment next door which is being used as a guest house, so much so that the entire wall running along the length of the apartment is totally destroyed.

the building management refuses to accept the complaint and says that this is the matter between the 2 apartment owners and have nothing to do with management.

the JO of Building department and FEHD are doing their part but its been more then 3 years now without any result.

also since the damage is extensive is there any method to get any compensation from the owner of the next door apartment..?

Thanks
